This international pass connects the Chilean cities of Osorno, the Llanquihue Lake region (Frutillar and Puerto Varas) and the city of Puerto Montt with the Argentine city of San Martín de los Andes through national route RN 234.
You can drive to this pass from the city of Osorno on international route CH 215 (paved).
Osorno is approximately 120 kilometers (74 mi) from the border.
This pass connects National Parks Puyehue (in Chile) and Nahuel Huapi (in Argentina), with countless lakes and lagoons, colorful forests, volcanoes and winter sport resorts.
On the Argentine side, you will drive 43 kilometers (26 mi) on national route RN231 to Villa La Angostura, and then 110 kilometers (68 mi) on national route RN234 to San Martín de los Andes, driving on the famous section of that route known as The Seven Lakes Road.
This pass is located 1315 mts (4314 ft) above sea level. It is open all year round from 9am to 8pm, depending on winter weather conditions.
