This international pass connects the Chilean city of Panguipulli through Lake Pirehueico with the outlet of Lake Nonthué (Argentina). Take Provincial Route RP 48 to drive into San Martín de los Andes.
You can drive to this pass on a gravel road, national route CH 203. Then you will cruise lake Pirehueico for an hour and a half from Panguipulli to Puerto Fuy on board the Mariela ferry (check schedule and frequency at www.barcazas.somarco.cl)
The region known in Chile as The Seven Lakes presents a landscape of amazing natural beauty where you will be able to enjoy hot springs and the main natural attraction in the area: the Huilo Huilo falls, very close to the border.
Once on the Argentine side, you need to drive 50 kilometers (31 mi) on provincial route RP48 (gravel), to arrive in San Martín de los Andes.
Located at 685 mts (2247 ft) above sea level, this pass is open all year round from 8am to 8pm.
